The mission of Courage is Change
is to end the generational cycle of abuse and violence by
empowering children, youth and adults to create non-violent
communities through healthy relationship development.
Courage is Change seeks to address
all the causes and effects of violence and abuse in the lives
of individuals through education, communication and community
involvement.
The mission of Abby's Voice
is to educate young women, their families, and their communities
regarding the dangers of dating violence. Abby's Voice was
established in July 2008 by Kathy and Chuck Robertson, in
memory of their 21-year old daughter, Abigail, who was brutally
murdered on December 11, 2007. She was stalked and harassed
repeatedly by an ex-boyfriend for several months before the
fatal attack.
It STOPS With Me has been designed to raise awareness
about the issues of dating and domestic violence by creating
a series of Television Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
and by encouraging individuals to take personal action by
taking a pledge to end this cycle of violence.
"By taking action,
we no longer ignore the problem. The time is NOW for
us all to make a difference and stop the violence. Make
your pledge today."
Take the pledge online
and tell your personal story. Watch for events in your
area to add your hand print to the banner. Together
we can make the commitment to end dating and domestic
violence.
